The NG NCLEX RN launched on April 1, 2023 to better measure nursing candidates’ clinical judgment and decision-making abilities through the use of innovative item   types.   NG NCLEX RN   is   the Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) format of 85 -150 questions. The NG NCLEX RN exam includes a new question format called the "extended multiple-response item, which allows the test taker to choose more than one answer. The exam will use case studies and patient scenarios to assess a candidate's ability to think critically, prioritize care, and evaluate the outcomes of their decisions.

STEPS OF NCLEX

  • Apply for licensure/registration with one nursing regulatory body (NBR).
  • Register and pay the exam fee online or by calling Pearson VUE NG NCLEX RN candidate services.
  • Receive acknowledgement of receipt of NCLEX registration from Pearson VUE by email.
  • NRB makes you eligible in the Pearson VUE system. You must be made eligible by the N B R  within 365 days of your NCLEX registration and payment.
  • Receive authorization to test (ATT) email from Pearson VUE. You must test within the validity dates on the att. There are no extensions.
